The Municipality of Zalău was awarded the „Excellence in culture" prize by Sălaj County Department for Culture. The prize was given for the project „Promoting the Roman Festival Zalău Porolissum - promotional tool for the local archeological sites" , financed by the European funds through the Regional Operational Program, intervention area 5.3 „Promoting the touristic potential and creating the necessary infrastructure in order to increase the atractivity of Romania as a touristic destination". The ceremony took place Friday, the 1st of February 2013, during the Cultural Gala of Sălaj County, in the presence of numerous guests from Sălaj county and other regions from Romania.

The Municipality of Zalău will participate at the National Tourism Fair organized durin the 14th and 17th of March 2013, at the Romexpo Exibition Centre from Bucharest.

After participating at the TOURISTICA Tourism Fair in Cluj Napoca from the 2^nd to the 4^th of November 2012, it is time to promote the municipality at national level. The National Touristic Fair organized at the Romexpo Exibit Centre from Bucharest, during the 15^th and 18^th of November 2012 is the perfect occasion to present the local archaeological sites, the Archaeological Site of Porolissum and the Roman Festival Zalau Porolissum to those who don't know them yet.

The activity is part of the project "Promotion of the Zalau Porolissum Roman Festival - tool for the promotion of local archaeological sites", financed through the European Fund for Regional Development.

Between the 10th and 13th of July took place the filming for a tourist show in which Zalău and the Roman Festival Zalau Porolissum will be stars.

Known by the local public because of their representations at the previous editions of the Roman Festival Zalau Porolissum, the antique dance group „The Nymphs of Dacia" were present this year at a number of cultural events, part of the historical reenactment festivals.
